What’s In Our Camera Bag?

Whether we are shooting a backyard wedding bash or a family photo op on the beach, the tools in our bag are paramount to our success in capturing the very best images for our clients. Canon is our go-to for cameras and lenses. In our opinion, they’re simply the best, and we expect nothing less for our peeps! Don’t forget the back-up batteries, extra flash, Canon L-Lenses, client timeline, “must-get” shot list for our 2nd shooters and plenty of memory cards. Here’s some things you may not expect: Sunscreen (No less than SPF 50 please!), sunglasses, lip gloss, Clif Bars, nail polish remover (no chipped nails for our brides), hair ties, bobbie pins, band-aids, safety pins, extra contact lenses for Janel, and fashion tape are also all must-haves for a functional photographer!

Janel’s Go-To Gadgets:

The Canon 1 DS Mark III Digital Camera and the Canon 35mm 1.4 Lens

Why: This camera really gives a clear, true perception of the subject she’s shooting and it’s lighting-speed fast. The lens is perfect for every-kind-of-situation.

Camryn’s Go-To Gadgets:

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III Camera and the Canon 50mm 1.2 Lens

Why: Both these tools are perfect for what Camryn shoots during weddings, portrait sessions, and especially during the newborn photo sessions she shoots. Sometimes the little ones only give you mere seconds to get that once-in-a-lifetime shot. The images are buttery and soft while still offering a clean, crisp final result.

Anna’s Go-To Gadgets:

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III and the Canon 85mm 1.2 Lens

Why: Simply put, these are God’s Gift to photographers! They create flattering portraits and capture movements well in video– all-too-important since she is our resident videographer!
