Inside Scoop: What It’s Really Like To Be A Photographer

Inside Scoop: Q & A With Your Favorite Focus Photo Inc. Photographer

Although Janel, Camryn and Anna would much rather stay behind the scenes, they’re stepping up and stepping out of their comfort zones (which, of course, is totally behind the camera!), to give us some cool insight that I’m over the moon to share with you! Here’s the inside scoop from Anna:

Q: What do you love most about being a photographer?

What I love most is that I’m genuinely excited about the images I take. Most people don’t love what they do for a living-I do. And it changes with every shoot: The lighting, the couple, the setting. Most of all, I love that I’m always on the look-out for new ideas and inspiration.

Q: Was this always your dream job, to be a photographer? If yes, why? If no, how did you get where you’re at today?

Yes and no! I always dreamt of being an artist, but knew that doing it for a living just wasn’t realistic. I’m a practical kind-of-girl! Now, through photography, (and don’t forget videography!), I’ve been blessed to make art for a living!

Q: After being in the biz (we won’t say exactly how long!), what’s the one thing you would change about your own wedding?

At this point, nothing because I just got married! 😉 Wait till it all sinks in.

Q: If you could create a dream client/s, what makes them so dreamy? And, honestly, what’s the #1 thing they can do to help you take amazing photos?

“Dream Clients” are down-to-earth and are as excited as I am about the session. They’re willing to take my advice, bring the appropriate props and really let me personalize their session. My #1 thing? Relax! Stiff bodies and facial expressions show so much when you’re uncomfortable. Try to remember that you’re just interacting with the person you love!

Q: Alright Anna, you’re almost off the hook! What’s that one shoot that really tugged at your heart strings? Why?

I LOVED the Skjoldager wedding. The couple was so nice (and beautiful!), and were so easy to work with. They were up for anything and the chemistry between them was so powerful. Also, you could really see all the effort that went into planning their wedding-the details were beautiful, and I’m all about the details!

Seriously! These kind of details make my job so easy!

Could they be more in love???

Could they be more in love???

Q: Okay, I lied-one more! What’s your hubby’s biggest pet peeve about being married to a photographer?

“Always getting my pic taken (whether I like it or not) but never being able to take pictures of her!” Sorry Sean, I don’t think that’s going to change.

Alright ladies, bring on the questions. And don’t worry- Janel and Camryn’s Q & A is coming soon!

Cheers,

Aimée
