Baby Maxine has arrived!

Okay, I know this is a tiny bit late… I have been a tad busy to say the least trying to adapt to “mommyhood”.  While it’s been amazing, it is also extremely tiring!  Wow~  you would think after having been a nanny years ago that I would know what to expect with a newborn baby.  Nope.  It is completely different when is your own baby.  Somehow the sleepless nights are not so bad.  Well… not as bad as I thought they would be anyway.

So back to the day she was born, roughly 3 weeks ago… August 16th, 2011 at 7:58PM to be exact.  Maxine weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was born at Saddleback Hospital.  My doctor along with everyone else was telling me that she would more than likely be a week or two late seeing as she would be our first baby.  I had a feeling that this would not be the case for some reason.  I figured she would be like  her mom in the way of being less than patient!  I had my doctors appointment on August 15th, of course same thing~  no signs of labor and my doctor had me scheduled to be induced the following week which I was less than thrilled about.  That day I decided I would try every trick in the book to get things moving, starting with spicy mexican food (extra hot sauce),  then I went for a long walk at the mall – literally just to walk (no shopping), last but not least I went for a swim at our old condo complex – long story short:  My water broke that evening at 10:30pm right when I was heading to bed.  I was then in the hospital about 11pm, and ended up being in labor for 22 hours only to end up having an emergency C-secion.  Buzz kill.  Well kind of but it was all worth it once I was able to see my baby girl for the first time.  Needless to say Casey and I are utterly in love with our new baby.  Here are some amazing photos that “Auntie Caitlin” took at the hospital, there are a ton!!  I thought it would be nice for both of our families to be able to see them, especially Casey’s family who are in Michigan.
